Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI): Empowering Principles – Physiological Strategies
This session focuses on ways that a child’s mental and physical needs can be met so they are able to learn new skills and respond to life’s challenges in healthy ways. You will learn more about how to create felt-safety and connection through making space for children’s voices and choices, yeses, and sharing power. You will discuss how a child’s behavior might communicate physical needs, for example, for food, water, exercise and sleep, and helping children learn to interpret their body’s messages about these needs. The session will also cover how sensory information may be processed by children, how their behavior can communicate their sensory preferences, and how to meet their sensory needs.
Completion of this course confers 3 credit hours.
