This session provides information about setting expectation, responses based on what makes sense for the situation, and repair after difficult behavior. It covers an IDEAL response: immediate, direct, efficient, action-based, and leveled at the behavior, not the child. You will learn more about when playful engagement may help, when to provide more structure, when to offer calming engagement and when to focus on protecting from harm. You will also learn about how to teach children that mistakes are a part of learning, and that they can continue to heal through relationship.

Completion of this course confers 3 credit hours.
